5. Supergirl (TV series' armor suit)

Worn by: Melissa Benoist

Whenever Supegirl season 4 commenced filming, Melissa Benoist was finishing up her run on Broadway's Beautiful: The Carole King Musical so the show needed to come up with a way of keeping Supergirl on the show even when Benoist wasn't available to film. Enter the protective armor suit designed by Lena Luthor.

Kara initially wore this suit when Earth's atmosphere was laced with Kryptonite, which made it uninhabitable for her. The suit allowed her to breathe while also serving as protective armor whenever she wore it in battle. It was compared to an Iron Man suit, and honestly, it's easy to see why. From the close-ups of Benoist's face in the suit to the way it was used in battle, it was very Iron Man.

It wasn't, however, as sleek as Iron Man's armor and did look a bit bulky on occasion, particularly around the shoulders. Though in its defense, it did look pretty cool when worn without the helmet as it pretty much just served as an alternate suit for Supergirl to wear. And the fact that the House of El symbol on the chestplate is lit up like the centerpiece that it is is just too wonderful. It's definitely the standout quality on this one.
