2. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was a true masterpiece. It was truly the perfect sendoff to the Guardians franchise, at least as we know it under the direction of James Gunn.
Watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 it was clear James Gunn had a clear vision for the movie and executed the plan to perfection with his signature blend of heart, humor, and action.
The High Revolutionary was one of the most chilling villains we’ve seen in the MCU in ages. Chukwudi Iwuji was brilliant and managed to create a villain that actually made us uneasy and will go down as one of the most evil villains the MCU has ever seen. Which is why we love him!
This movie managed to break me in a way I never expected with Rocket’s heartbreaking origin story which included one of the most haunting and tragic scenes the MCU has ever seen. Yet the brilliance of the movie was how it managed to somehow balance its heavier moments with humorous scenes.
While we could have done without the fake-out deaths, as a whole Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was one of Marvel’s shining achievements. It’s just a shame that Marvel let DC steal James Gunn away because he was a true visionary and one of the best to ever helm a Marvel movie.
