7. Superman and Lois (season 1)

Worn by: Tyler Hoechlin

When Tyler Hoechlin finally got his own DC TV spinoff in Superman and Lois, some changes were made to the suit he wore on Supergirl . Actually, a lot of changes were made.

The show was starting from scratch, so it opted for a more traditional-looking design for its super suit. The result was close-to-perfection, as we got deeper blues, darker reds, and a more typical-sized House of El symbol on the chest. It looked cinematic, and wouldn't have been at all out of place on the big screen (in fact, if we got a '90s Superman movie, this might have been the suit for him).

The only drawbacks are minor. The first of those is that the House of El symbol doesn't really pop as it's just painted onto the chest of the suit. It isn't embossed, it doesn't raise up; it's just flat. And that makes it look a little faded and dirty. It's great, but it just lacks a tiny bit of character.

As for the other issue, it's the padding. In an attempt to make up for the lack of padding in the Supergirl suit, the first Superman and Lois suit overdoes the padding, with the shoulders and neck area of the suit looking a little too chunky. On occasion, you can even see the padding bend in a way that real muscles would not.

Thankfully, these issues were ironed out in season 2 (don't worry, we'll get to that!).
