11. Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Worn by: Dean Cain

Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman decided to try something different with the Man of Steel's story by focusing on his relationship with Lois Lane every bit as much as his heroics. It made the story a must for television, as the long-running format gave it a chance to develop that relationship. However, the ABC series wasn't going to let a limited budget prevent it from making its mark.

Remember, this was the primary version of Superman for its audience as the Man of Steel was no longer a regular presence on the big screen, so the suit had to look great. To do that, it did something different. This suit was made out of spandex, giving it an incredibly shiny look. It might seem a little dated by today's standards, but it was quite the upgrade back in the '90s, especially for television.

You can't deny that Dean Cain looked sleek in the suit, and whenever that blue shimmered in the light, it looked beautiful. What was also beautiful was the incredibly long, red cape that made the suit look that much richer. The red and blue went together better than they ever had by this point, and it all made a '90s TV series look very larger-than-life.

The House of El symbol in the middle was a little unusual-looking because of how large it was, and there were, at one point, very clunky-looking holsters on the cape, but all in all, this was an upgrade for Superman's television days.
