Teen Titans to get a new live-action movie

DC’s Teen Titans are finally making their live-action debut on the big screen! There have been various iterations of the young heroes before and even a live-action series. But for the first time, we will see a feature film showcasing a live-action adaptation of the characters for James Gunn’s DC cinematic universe.

The story broke recently after it was confirmed by multiple media outlets that the film was on track to be made although no producer or director has been attached to the project it has attached actress and playwright Ana Nogueira to write the film’s script. Nogueira is also doing the screenplay for another highly anticipated DC film with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

The Teen Titans are fan favorites for their many iterations and if done well this next venture could be a massive hit for DC going forward. The last live-action version of these characters were featured in a more mature nature in DC’s and HBO’s Titans. It’s too early to tell whether any of the actors from the show would reprise a role or if the film would look into casting younger actors hence keeping the Teen aspect which the HBO series opted out of.

DC’s Blue Beetle film was also a success and we may see Xolo Maridueña reprise the role and fight alongside our new Teen Titans sooner than we might have expected. With Marvel also trying to get their Young Avengers assembled DC seems to be gearing up for some friendly competition at the box office with their future projects starting development.
