The Orville and 3 TV shows we might never see again

Call us pessimistic, but we have a very bad feeling we might never see The Orville and these particular TV shows back again.

The Orville

Seth MacFarlane and the Disney brass might not yet be ready to decommission the USS Orville, but it's time someone said it out loud: The Orville season 4 just isn't going to happen.

If Disney truly wanted to bring The Orville back for another season, it surely would have handed out a renewal already. After all, the season 3 finale aired well over a year ago way back on August 4, 2022. If you want to bring a show back, you don't typically tend to wait nearly two years to hand out a renewal for a show you feel passionately about.

Originally, Disney seemed to suggest it was going to wait to see how the show performed on Disney+ following its Hulu run before making a decision. However, the show has been on Disney+ since August 10, 2022, meaning there has been plenty of time to evaluate the show's Disney+ viewership numbers and decide of whether a fourth season should happen.

While fans might still be interested in another season, we get a sense most of the cast would not even want to return. Series lead Adrianne Palicki basically said she has no plans of returning for season 4 and we imagine she's not the only one who has no desire to come back. Fortunately for them, we don't get a sense Disney has any plans to order The Orville season 4.
