During the final issue of DC Comics Gotham War, it looked like Selina Kyle (Catwoman) fell to her death. Shocking to no one, she survived. There was no way that Catwoman would die like that. She didn’t just survive the fall; she came back with more lives than before. Nine to be exact (one she used upon her fall). Instead of Selina using the lives the way she wanted to, Amanda Waller wants to use some of those lives.
The cover of Catwoman No. 62 shows Selina getting an injection from Amanda Waller. The same one that keeps her Suicide Squad under control. Taskforce X’s leader will exploit anyone given the opportunity and Selina’s new gifts suit Waller’s needs perfectly. She can detonate the bomb in Selina’s neck more than a few times without losing her permanently. A great way to keep someone in check. However, no one puts Selina in a corner.
There isn’t a person in the world who can force Selina to do something she doesn't want to. Sure, she'll go along with it for a little while, but she’ll eventually rebel. When that happens, there will be hell to pay. Selina doesn’t forgive or forget. She may not be one for murderous revenge, but she won’t pass up the opportunity for vengeance.
Catwoman is the world’s best thief. Does that sound like the person you want on your bad side? Absolutely not. Especially when your career is based on secrets. Eventually, Catwoman will learn things Amanda Waller won’t want released. At that point, she’ll have a bargaining chip. Waller will immediately threaten to kill her. The problem with that is Selina is smart. She’ll let Waller know that, if she dies, everything she has on her will be released. That will be enough to stop her boss.
Before this series is over, Waller will discover something everyone knows. As cliche as it sounds, crossing a black cat is bad luck. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out how this series concludes.
