4 The Walking Dead characters who probably won't be back in 2024

The world of The Walking Dead will continue to grow in the coming year. Even though the original series (and now its original spinoff) is no longer on the air, the TWD Universe has expanded its horizons with new spinoffs Daryl Dixon and Dead City, and it will look to do it again in the third new offshoot The Ones Who Live.

This is arguably the most anticipated of the three shows, as it brings back leading man Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, marking the first full-time appearance we'll have seen of him since the early days of the ninth season of TWD. It will also bring back Danai Gurira as Michonne, who also took a leave of absence from the original series when she departed in its tenth season.

The spinoffs are known for giving some beloved characters spotlight. We know that Daryl and Carol will both return in the second season of Daryl Dixon to get some of that well-earned spotlight, but don't be expecting all of your favoite TWD characters to return. It will be a while before we see some of them again (if the shows ever let us see them again, that is). With that in mind, here are some characters we shouldn't expect to see in 2024. After that, who knows.
