The iconic and legendary shapeshifting mutant Mystique gets the spotlight treatment with her new solo series from Marvel Comics told in 5 issues

Creator Declan Shalvey (Moon Knight, Dead Man Logan) is the writer and artist behind this new series. This new solo series will take Mystique through tales of espionage and action. The series takes us to Krakoa where Mystique is reunited with her wife Destiny and her children Rogue and Nightcrawler.

In the aftermath of a fallen mutant nation, her skills are required to protect mutant-kind everywhere. Her involvement grabs the attention of none other than Nick Fury which entails our antiheroine in a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

This solo series promises to deliver on the daring action and thrills with the mysterious mutant in focus in this spy thriller. As both a writer and a big X-Men fan, creator Declan Shalvey shared his thoughts on this new story with an iconic character that is Mystique:

"Mystique is hands down one of the most compelling characters to come from the Marvel Universe," Shalvey shared. "To have an opportunity to put my own stamp on such an iconic character and showcase her in a series of her own is a unique privilege. As a rabid X-fan since childhood, I’m having a blast channeling all my X-enthusiasm into writing and drawing this project," he continued. "In this series, Mystique is reeling from the fall of Krakoa. She’s a rogue element with no accountability putting a mysterious plan into action, ruthlessly destroying anything and anyone in her way"

It's going to be interesting to see what this new story brings for the iconic X-Men villain, but we're so excited to get to see Mystique back in the spotlight. Mystique is such an amazing character and this new series will help give a dose of the iconic character who we desperately missed seeing in X-Men

Fans of the character can expect to start reading this fall with MYSTIQUE #1 (of 5) to be on sale on October 16 of this year.
