2024 will see the returns of several hit series, but we're not expecting these four shows to return in the new year.

Wednesday

If there is one show we want to see back on our screens in 2024, it's Wednesday.

When Wednesday premiered in 2022, we anticipated the show would be a breakout hit; however, we never could have imagined the success the show would enjoy. Oddly, Netflix was a bit slow to renew the breakout hit which resulted in a delayed start to production on the season which was delayed even further by the 2023 writers' and actors' strikes.

The good news is that Wednesday season 2 will begin filming in early 2024, the bad news is that filming won't begin until the start of the year. Filming will take several months and then the show will have to go through post-production which will likely take at least a few months as well. This is all to say that there is a very strong chance that we won't be getting a new season of Wednesday in 2024.

Still, Netflix could surprise us by streamlining production on season 2 in hopes of rolling it out in the final quarter of the year. Given the show's success and Netflix's recent love for splitting seasons, perhaps the first few episodes of the season will be ready in time for fans to get new episodes in the new year.
