Thor is another MCU movie that was a little before its time. Looking back, Thor aged really well compared to some MCU movies from Marvel's Phase One, and that's why it's on our list of the most underrated MCU movies so far.

Thor is the second best of the Thor movies behind 2017's Thor: Ragnarok. These movies feel the most similar in terms of tone, although Ragnarok takes things to a whole new level. Then, the story and comedy were taken to a whole new level again with Thor: Love and Thunder, one of the MCU movies that just needed to be better.

Thor introduces Marvel fans and viewers to the world of Asgard, along with its super dramatic royal family of Odin, Thor, and Loki. After nearly starting a war, Thor is banished to Earth from Asgard. From there, Thor tries to find a place for himself and then tries to take back his rightful place on Asgard.

Overall, Thor is such a good set-up for the beginning of the MCU and the events that are paid off in Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame, and Disney+'s Loki series. It's all possible because of Thor, which is one of the most underrated early MCU movies, for sure.
