The Marvels is the most recently released MCU movie on this list. The movie premiered in theaters in November 2023, and it's been well-documented that it did not live up to financial expectations. Honestly, I don't care about how much money Marvel makes from money. I also don't think it's a fair measure of how good a movie actually is. Please repeat after me: The best movies don't always make the most money.
Anyway, the discourse surrounding The Marvels has been hijacked, so I won't go there. Judging this movie clearly as a, well, movie (I know that sounds crazy!), The Marvels is actually good! Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani are incredible together! It's a great trio, and this story is interesting. It might not feel like the most fresh MCU story, but it's not like this is the worst MCU movie of all time or something.
Nia DaCosta crafts a great story and presents that story in an interesting way. There's perspective, and most importantly, it's entertaining. Don't listen to what the people say; The Marvels is a good MCU movie, and that's why it's on our list of the most underrated MCU movies so far.
