3. James Marsden’s Cyclops

If there is any one key member of the X-Men ensemble who deserves a redemption arc in the MCU, it's James Marsden’s Cyclops.

Despite being a staple on the X-Men team in the comics who is known as a strategic mind and loyal leader, Fox's X-Men movies never really gave Marsden's Cyclops the respect he deserved. He was often an afterthought and the movies never really positioned him as a strong leader on the team which is what the character has always been known as within the comics.

The X-Men movies also failed to showcase just how powerful Cyclops is as a hero. Sure his optic beams were effective, but they were toned down and looked over.

By bringing Marsden's Cyclops into the fold via this alternate universe, Marvel has the chance to finally position Cyclops as the leader we know him to be. Marvel also how the ability to finally showcase just how mighty and powerful his optic beams are in battle.

And yes, the idea of finally getting to see Marsden in a more comic-accurate version of Cyclops' iconic X-Men suit is so exciting to picture. Marvel has always done a great job of adapting comic book looks and we're ready for Marsden to suit up again, this time in Cyclops' signature suit.
