The final season of Stranger Things has begun and the first episodes of season 5 quickly reminded us why we love the show so much: the characters! The show is full of so many amazing characters, who together help to create one of the best shows in the history of TV. Speaking of Stranger Things fans, while the show is coming to an end, we still have a lot of excitement ahead of us this month and in the future!
There are still four more episodes of season 5 coming this December. The next three episodes will arrive at 8 p.m. ET on Christmas Day, and the final episode will arrive on December 31 at 8 p.m. ET while also playing in a select number of theaters across the U.S. When those final episodes arrive, we can only hope that Netflix has fixed its issues so that it won’t crash again when the next new episodes arrive.
While the show will be ending, Stranger Things will live on in many mediums. There are countless books fans can enjoy which contain original stories, including Stranger Things: One Way or Another, a new novel that centers on Nancy Wheeler. Then there is the upcoming animated series Stranger Things: Tales from '85 coming in 2026, as well as a live-action spinoff in the works from the Duffer Brothers.
This new spinoff has the chance to take the show into a new direction, and fans are eager to see what the Duffers have planned. While they might be on the move to Paramount under a new deal, they've made it clear they're going to be involved with the spinoff and it remains a top priority.
In other words, while Stranger Things might be ending, the franchise won’t be going anywhere. And that's certainly something we're excited about as this is one franchise we're not quite ready to say goodbye to entirely.
