Stranger Things 5 has set up a few couples for endgame status
Heading into the final season of Stranger Things, there are several established couples who fans continue to root for and hope are endgame. After watching the first four episodes of the final season, some couples are certainly in better places than others, but the show seems to be working towards giving happy endings to several couples – or at least has dangled the hope endgame results in the faces of the fans!
Joyce and Hopper: Fans have been longing to see Joyce and Hopper get a happy ending, and there is a chance we might see that in the final season. The pair are still happily together in season 5 and we certainly see them getting their happy ending – and hopefully that dinner at Enzo’s – by the end of the show so long as they both survive.
Robin and Vickie: Another couple on solid ground heading into the final episodes is Robin and Vickie. The pair are officially together as of season 5 and we could not be happier. There is a chance that the pair’s future could be in jeopardy with Robin having to constantly cancel their plans due to the mission to stop Vecna, but we’re optimistic the pair will get their happy ending!
Lucas and Max: Of the couples on this list, Max and Lucas are in the roughest spot at the moment with Max still in a coma in the real world. However, knowing that Max is alive and just has to find her way out of Henry’s mind prison, it seems inevitable that a reunion is on the horizon. After all the pair have been through, there’s no way they’re not endgame!
Nancy and Jonathan: As season 5 began, we learned that Jonathan had gotten an engagement ring with the intention of asking Nancy to marry him. This seems to be an indication that the couple could get a happy ending, though fans are worried that Jonathan could end up dying in the final episodes in a heroic moment to save Nancy. If that’s the case, our hearts will definitely be broken as Nancy and Jonathan are a couple we’re rooting for.
Nancy and Steve: Although the show continues to flirt with the Steve- Nancy-Jonathan love triangle, it seems highly unlikely that Steve and Nancy will be endgame for the show. There is certainly hope that the pair could end up together in the end, but all signs seem to be pointing towards Nancy ending up with Jonathan in the end.
Eleven and Mike: Having been the central couple from the beginning, we all want Mike and Eleven to get a happy ending and they certainly deserve it. However, we’d be lying if we didn’t admit that we’re terrified that one of the two won’t survive the final battle with Vecna. Fans have long been speculating that Eleven might perish in the final battle, but we’re hoping that won’t be the case and that Mike and Eleven get their happy ending.
Will and Mike: Sadly, we don’t have hopes for Will getting his happy ending – at least in the way he might have originally envisioned it. While it’s looking unlikely Will and Mike end up together, our hope is that Will’s journey in the final season allows him to embrace who he truly is and find happiness.
