Marvel always seems to be looking for new actors to add to their roster. With a possible reset of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Secret Wars, and dozens of characters that could appear in future projects, it’s smart to look towards the future. In this case, we have star of Shameless and The Bear, Jeremy Allen White.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Jeremy Allen White is being considered for a role in the MCU. Although no specific role has been rumored, fans have already begun speculating about who he could play if he were to join the Marvel Studios franchise.

Jeremy Allen White has won Golden Globes and Emmys for his role as Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto in Hulu’s The Bear. He’s also been praised for his performance in Shameless as Lip Gallagher. Because of this, and his popularity, it makes sense that Marvel Studios would try and grab him for a role, especially with his future with The Bear up in the air.
As reported by Forbes, Jeremy Allen White’s future with The Bear is unclear. Even if you saw how season 4 concluded, there’s no way to say if Carmy is done or not. It’s easy to see why he wouldn’t return. However, Allen White is consistently nominated for awards for his role, and it would make sense for him to appear in a storyline that doesn’t revolve around the restaurant.
Of course, as with all rumors it's important to remember that this is also a rumor that may not bear fruit (pardon the pun). White currently has two major movie roles coming up in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu as Rotta the Hutt (debuting in 2026), and he’s playing Bruce Springsteen in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025). The latter could land him the Oscar he’s been missing. So, with all of this going on, the question is whether or not he'd have the time to join the MCU.
Comic book movies do take a lot of time to complete. That means he’d have to find time in between his projects’ production and press tour to audition for a role (if he hasn’t already). And I’ve only mentioned two of his roles. Jeremy Allen White also has The Painted Bride and Enemies coming up. And when Marvel shows interest in an actor, it's almost always for a big role and not a cameo. We all know the commitment that these Marvel movies require, often including a lot of working out to get in action shape, which takes weeks, if not months.
Despite his busy schedule, Jeremy Allen White can still audition for a big Marvel Studios role and appear in a project if they are interested in casting him. However, that would be a lot on his plate. That being said, it could be a part that speaks to him, making the time lost worth it in the end. Considering how good of an actor he is, this writer thinks he’d be a welcome addition to the MCU. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out if the rumor turns into a fact.
