It has been a big year for the Solo Leveling franchise. Not only did they release a successful sequel, but the Solo Leveling: Arise game has continued to garner attention. The anime wasn’t left out, as they released two successful seasons, which won the hearts of millions of fans worldwide. The massive success of the anime culminated in a big night for the series at the latest edition of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

Solo Leveling has been in the mouths of millions of fans since the anime was first released back in 2024. A1 Pictures has done a phenomenal job in bringing Sung Jin-woo’s remarkable journey to life. The wonderful season has surpassed existing manhwa to anime adaptations and has raised the bar for subsequent adaptations.

Solo Leveling’s busy night at the Crunchyroll  Anime Awards

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards were held on May 25, and the popular series won big. Among those wins was the most coveted award of the night in Anime of the Year, really just capping off what has been an incredible year-long period for the series.

Although this year's ceremony marked the show's first round of nomination for the Anime Awards, the series established itself as a formidable voice in the anime world, earning an impressive 13 nominations. Better yet, it racked up nine wins.

The awards Solo Leveling won include:

Anime of the Year
Best Main Character
Best Action Anime
Best New Anime Series
Best Anime Ending Sequence (“request” by Krage)
Best Anime Voice Artist Performance – English (Aleks Le as Sung Jinwoo)
Best Anime Score
Best Anime Voice Artist Performance – Brazilian Portuguese (Charles Emmanuel as Sung Jinwoo)
Best Anime Voice Artist Performance – Castilian Spanish (Masumi Mutsuda as Sung Jinwoo)

Overall, it was a phenomenal night for Solo Leveling at the awards, although they missed out on some awards. The anime broke the previous record for the most wins at the award show and has set a historic new record. That's how you make a statement when you arrive on the scene.

While many fans found Solo Leveling winning the Anime of the Year award questionable, its fans were relieved to see it enjoy such unanticipated levels of success, particularly as it might ultimately get that heavily-anticipated third season on screens as soon as possible. Nothing stays its a fan-favorite quite like clearing up at awards ceremonies!
