Since its announcement, fans knew Spider-Noir would shape up to be unlike any other live-action project the wall-crawler has starred in. Instead of watching a bright teenager from Queens suit up and save the world, we're about to witness a jaded vigilante do whatever it takes to solve any case. The colorful, modern streets of New York will be reimagined as dark, twisted alleyways set during the Great Depression. Spider-Man's newest villains won't be for the faint of heart, as they are more dreadful than ever before. The best part? We finally have a better look at what to expect when the MGM+ and Prime Video series releases.
The first trailer for Spider-Noir is finally here, and it showcases Nicolas Cage's Ben Reilly in action, swinging through New York's skyline, fighting iconic villains, and also doing a few goofy mannerisms. Furthermore, we also get small glimpses at some bad guys that are bound to make Spider-Man fans happy.
Spider-Noir trailer offers first look at Sandman, Silvermane, Black Cat, and more
"With no power comes no responsibility". The hero's new mantra perfectly describes a man who isn't afraid to shoot guns and take a life in his pursuit of protecting his city. From the get-go, we're introduced to Nicolas Cage's Ben Reilly, whose superpowers seem to have changed him into something... worse. Ticks, invasive thoughts, and impulses are just a few of the side effects he now has to deal with. Fortunately, he isn't completely alone when dealing with the supernatural.
At the ten-second mark in the trailer, we get our first look at Li Jun Li's Felicia 'Cat' Hardy, an ally to Ben Reilly and a nightclub chanteuse who is at the center of a big conspiracy. While the Black Cat usually helps the wall-crawler, she can also act as an antagonist in many tales. With that in mind, Ben will need even more help, and that's where Lamorne Morris' Robbie Robertson and Karen Rodriguez' Janet come in.
Ben, Robbie, and Janet are a team trying to unfold the central mystery of Spider-Noir. In their journey, they will come across no shortage of dreadful villains, one of which fans are very familiar with. At the 40-second mark, during a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, we get our first look at Jack Huston's Sandman. While he isn't in full supervillain form during the trailer, we can see traces of sand in his face. The very next shot showcases a painting of Brendan Gleeson's Silvermane, whose assassination attempts will be at the heart and center of the story.
Interestingly enough, at the 1:24 mark, we get a shot of the Spider facing someone who seems to channel electricity through their hand. It's important to remember that Maxwell Dillon does appear in the Spider-Man Noir comic books, and while his character wasn't revealed to be part of the show before, it seems we'll see him in action either way.
Speaking of the villains we didn't know were in Spider-Noir, Molten Man can be seen at the 1:09 mark, and fans believe there's a quick shot of Vulture at the 41-second mark. If true, it would have big story implications, given that The Vulture was the one to kill Uncle Ben in the Spider-Man: Noir comics.
Fortunately, the trailer finally featured a release date. Spider-Noir is making its way to screens on May 27, 2026, and we can't wait to see more of this iteration of the wall-crawler.
