Prior to the release of Spider-Noir, Sony unveiled every villain set to take the spotlight in this grim and violent adventure. We knew that classic Spider-Man antagonists such as Black Cat, Silvermane, Sandman, and Tombstone were going to wreak havoc in the streets of New York, along with newcomers Megawatt and Jimmy Addison. Needless to say, Ben Reilly already had his hands full, and that's not even taking into account yet another group of villains that comic book fans will recognize in a heartbeat.
See, in the Prime Video show, Silvermane runs the entire city. The cops, previous mayors, and other key figures are all in his pocket. He's like a puppet master, pulling the strings behind New York as a whole. However, such a level of power makes him a person of interest, which is why he can't be seen in public too much. After all, he's been the subject of many assassination attempts in the past. So how has he been able to stay on top while also hiding in the shadows? Well, it is because there is a group of dangerous people who enforce his will.

The Enforcers make an appearance in Spider-Noir
The Enforcers are among the first villains Spider-Man ever faced in the comic book world, making their first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man No. 10 (1964). Recently, they appeared in the prequel comic to Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, where they worked for Silvio Manfredi (a.k.a. Silvermane). Wouldn't you know it, history just repeated itself in Spider-Noir.
Throughout the events of the recent Marvel series, we see three particular henchmen who do Silvermane's bidding: Wingston, Perry, and Pudge. Granted, these are completely different names from those of The Enforcers in the comic book world: Montana, Fancy Dan, and Ox. However, the similarities are more than apparent.
For starters, Spider-Noir's Wingston wears a hat at all times, much like Montana in the comic book pages. Furthermore, Pudge is a big brute with more muscle than brains, just like Ox. Last, but certainly not least, Perry could very well fit the role of Fancy Dan. Besides, these three henchmen follow Silvermane's every order, and at one point in the series, it is explicitly mentioned that they enforce their boss's will.
That's right, The Enforcers have finally made their live-action debut.
Spider-Noir doesn't explicitly name its supervillains during most of its runtime. Even though Brendan Gleeson clearly portrays Silvermane, his character's real name is Mr. Byrne instead of Silvio Manfredi (as is the case in the source material). Furthermore, he is rarely called "Silvermane"; instead, we only get to hear other characters refer to him as "the man with the mane of silver". A similar scenario occurs with Cat Hardy, who is clearly intended to be Black Cat but is never explicitly named as such.
Spider-Noir dances around the names of its characters. In fact, there's even evidence to suggest that Ben Reilly's real name is Peter Parker. As such, it isn't surprising to learn that The Enforcers aren't explicitly referred to by that name, but there are enough nods and hints to suggest it's really them. Interestingly enough, this won't be the last time we'll see this villainous group, as renowned insider Daniel Richtman has stated that they will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Spider-Noir didn't hold back with its first season, as it featured many classic Spider-Man villains that fans are bound to recognize in a heartbeat. While The Enforcers weren't exactly the stars of the show, it's nice to know they made an appearance either way. Who knows? Maybe they can come back for Season 2 (even though they'd need to find a replacement for Wingston).
All eight episodes of Spider-Noir will be released on May 27 on Prime Video.
