Spider-Man has one of the most iconic rogues' galleries of any superhero ever created, perhaps just second to Batman. The wall-crawler has faced no shortage of ruthless villains throughout the years, including parasitic aliens, masters of illusions, literal vampires, and even a comic book editorial team that thought it was a good idea to undo Peter Parker's marriage by having him strike a deal with the devil. Unfortunately, many of these bad guys haven't been adapted for live action just yet, but that's about to change throughout the course of the year.
Based on multiple reports, it appears Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feel like a comic book brought to life. The highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe movie will feature obscure yet iconic characters who haven't made their live-action debut, such as Boomerang, Tarantula, 8-Ball, The Enforcers, and more. Furthermore, the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video series, Spider-Noir, will keep the trend going by shining the spotlight on villains like Silvermane and Molten Man. Fortunately, the streak won't end there, as an iconic Spider-Man character is set to appear in both projects after being relegated to the side for years.

Tombstone will appear in Spider-Noir
Spider-Man fans are no strangers to Tombstone. After all, the ruthless crime lord has had no shortage of prominent roles in many different adaptations. He was one of the main characters in last year's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and wreaked havoc in yet another animated series courtesy of Spectacular Spider-Man. Furthermore, he was a side antagonist in the highly acclaimed video Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 and appeared in the sequel. However, a live-action project had eluded him until now.
Sony revealed collectible Spider-Noir badges that will be handed out during Comic Con Experience Mexico 2026. Every badge featured a different villain set to appear in the show, including Black Cat, Silvermane, Electro, and Sandman. However, there was an unannounced character that fans hadn't seen before, and speculation ran rampant about his identity.
Some theories suggested he could be one of the members of The Enforcers or even the iconic Punisher villain Barracuda. However, we finally have a concrete answer, and it is none other than Tombstone.
The CCXPMX collectible badges feature illustrations by concept artist Jorge Molina, who confirmed via social media that Tombstone will be a part of Spider-Noir. Unfortunately, no details about the villain's role were revealed, but that won't stop us from speculating.
It has been officially confirmed that Ben Reilly will investigate a series of assassination attempts against mob boss Silvio Manfredi. With that in mind, it wouldn't be surprising to learn that Tombstone could be one of the main suspects behind these crimes (if not the man responsible). Could he be looking to expand his empire by eliminating the competition?
But before Tombstone takes over the small screen, he will first make his live-action debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Additionally, he will also have a major role in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2, where he could finally become a full-on supervillain after an entire season of setup. It seems 2026 will be the year of Tombstone, and we wouldn't want it any other way. If only he made a quick cameo in Marvel's Wolverine for PS5, connecting Logan's story with Spidey's, then we'd see him in all major types of media. Hey, it doesn't hurt to dream.
Spider-Noir will be released on May 27, 2026.
