After Silvermane’s men destroyed his office in the previous episode of Spider-Noir, Ben is working to clean up his office and assures Robbie and Janet that Silvermane won’t be a problem anymore. Robbie informs them that Addison’s wife knew what was going on, and he notices the man he met looking for Addison’s widow in the photo with him and Flint from the military. Robbie heads out to search for answers as Ben asks Janet to look into whether Addison, Flint, and the man were ever POWs, as they couldn’t have served in the same units as their units were segregated. That’s when Silvermane enters and tells Ben he has a job for him.

Silvermane suggests there are others like Addison with superpowers and says he needs Ben’s help with a rat problem. He assumes the same person who sent Addison to burn his house likely called in the tip to the cops. Silvermane thought Flint was dirty, but he didn’t know about the meeting at the docks, so he couldn’t be the rat. Silvermane heads out and leaves a lofty retainer as he assures Ben there will be a bonus if he finds the rat. Ben looks at the money and notices that the bills are marked. He asks for Cat’s money and finds that he’s marking her money as well, but in a different spot on the bills.

Ben heads to the hospital and goes undercover looking for the room numbers of the men brought in during the police raid. He begins questioning the officers trying to get intel and learns the raid came together quickly and finds the orders came straight from Mayor Morris.

Robbie heads back to the alleyway where he found the man who pointed him in the direction of Addison’s widow as police arrive to clear the area. He spots the man coming out just as officers begin to swarm. One officer hits him with a baton, and his skin begins to change. Flint comes out as well, and the pair begin to fight off the cops as Robbie takes photos of it all, capturing the moment.

Ben tries to track down Carmedy and learns his real name is Hicks. Ben heads up to the apartment and pushes his way in. He questions Carmedy over who hired him to get the photos of Cat, and he alleges to be a smut merchant and got a tip from the mayor's office. He admits he thought it would be a gold mine to sell to the papers or to the mayor as Ben gets a spider-sense and notices a man parked outside.

Ben goes to see Cat. She asks if he’s found Flint, and Ben reveals he’s still chasing leads. He tells her about Silvermane coming to hire him to find a rat in his crew. Cat says this place isn’t hers; it’s all Silvermane. She says Flint is loyal to a fault, and he asks about the mayor as he reminds her he’s trying to help her. Cat admits she’s scared and points out that Silvermane hasn’t gotten to where he has by being rational.

As Ben heads out, he spots Winston and suggests that he’s a rat. Winston makes it clear he’s going to find the rat and put him in the ground. Ben offers to share information, and Winston tells him to come to him first with anything he finds as he exits. That’s when Ben notices that the money Winston gave him is marked as well.

Robbie comes to learn that the man he previously met is named Lonnie Lincoln as Robbie tells Ben and Janet about what he saw earlier. He’s trying to get back to the Bugle and hoping this story could do the trick. Janet reveals the three men were all POWs together, and the photo Ben found was from the day they were rescued. Robbie pulls Ben aside and questions him about how this can’t be a coincidence. Ben shuts it down and tells him that Cat seems to be the rat and that Winston is close on her case and he’ll kill her if he finds out. He has a plan and asks Robbie for a room number for Vera Addison as he heads out.

Ben makes his way down the street and notices he’s got a tail. Frankie helps Ben give the tail a slip as he continues to Vera’s apartment. He questions her over who hired Addison, and she refuses to give answers. Ben makes it clear she’s in danger, but Vera decides to use the information to blackmail Ben into giving her $1,000 to slip town in exchange for not calling Silvermane.

After his visit with Vera, Ben goes to see Silvermane. He tells him that whoever the rat turns out to be, he can’t be emotional about it and that if anyone comes to him saying they have all the answers, he should know they’re lying. He makes it clear that he knows who hired Addison but needs firm evidence. He heads in as we notice he put some web on the doors of Silvermane’s apartment, hinting Ben has a plan to slip back in later.

Robbie goes to see the Bugle editor and show him the photos of Flint and Lonnie fighting the cops. The editor agrees to pay him for the story, but he only wants this story. If it works out, then they can talk about bringing him back full-time.

Ben sits down with Frankie to prep him for a con, the plan being for Frankie to dress up as Ben and walk around behind the window to convince Silvermane’s men Ben is in the apartment. Ben then heads out as the Spider and makes his way to the Hillhurst Hotel to break into Silvermane’s place. Once inside, he finds Silvermane asleep in his bed and begins looking around. Ben begins to pick the lock of Silvermane’s safe using his heightened hearing and cracks it open to find loads of cash. He takes several bills out and heads out the door, which slams on his way out. Silvermane comes in, and his goons search the room, but there are no signs anyone was there as they give the all-clear.

We cut to Cat entering her apartment. She hears footsteps behind her and pulls a gun from her handbag. She’s surprised to see it’s Flint, and the pair share a passionate kiss. She tells him she’s been so scared as he says he never should have run away. He promises to talk to Silvermane, and she says she doesn’t care about him; all she wants is for them to be together. If he really loves her, he won’t ask any questions and will leave with her right now. He agrees and tells her to pack a bag. As the kiss ends and he embraces her, his skin begins to change as he turns away from her and begins hitting at the wall. He tells her there is no fixing him as she tries to assure him they can find a way. He says this is a fantasy; he was kidding himself thinking he could have her as he storms out the door, leaving her alone.

The Bugle runs the story, but not the one Robbie submitted. Robbie is angered, as he never called the men monsters; the story was changed. The paper put his name on a bunch of lies, as he tells Janet.

Silvermane catches his rat and someone doesn't live to see Spider-Noir episode 4

Ben goes to give Vera the $1,000 he stole from Silvermane’s safe. He leaves as Silvermane’s goons watch Vera upstairs packing her bags. Two men then approach Ben and tell him the Mayor wants a word. The Mayor tells Ben that he wants to strike a deal with the Spider, as the city needs order. The mayor suggests Ben put him in touch with the Spider and makes him a new friend. As Ben leaves, Frankie shows up to tell him Cat took a cab to the train station, and he races off after her.

Ben finds Cat at the station and asks her why she’s running. Ben suggests that Cat is the rat, but he doesn’t know why. Before Cat can answer, Winston and his goons show up and suggest Cat and Ben were in this together. The goons grab Ben and Cat and take them both away at gunpoint. Winston reveals he slapped Vera around to get the truth before she spilled. Winston and his men drive Ben and Cat out to the middle of nowhere, where Silvermane is waiting for them. They then pull Vera up as well.

Vera claims it was Cat who hired her husband, but Cat says it’s not true. Ben asks Winston for proof of Vera’s story, and he pulls out the money Ben had given Vera, which Silvermane inspects as he asks Winston if he knows where his money comes from. He asks Winston if he knows he marks his bills and points out how the money has the markings of where Silvermane marks Winston’s money. Winston begins to infer that Ben set him up as Vera admits that it was Winston who threatened to kill her if she said otherwise.

Silvermane then shoots Winston, and he falls into the hole. Silvermane asks Ben if he’s good with a shovel and informs him they’ll be needing another grave. As the episode ends we see Silvermane fire off another shot, but it’s unclear who was hit.
