Following Cat’s shocking betrayal in episode 5 of Spider-Noir in which she revealed Ben’s secret identity to Dr. Faber, it became clear that Ben was about to be put in a dangerous position.

As episode 6 opens, Ben begins to gather his things and prepares to head out with Cat. That’s when Ogden shows up at his door and mentions recognizing Ben, but Ben doesn’t recognize him. Ogden tells Ben he saved his life as he reaches into his pocket for a photo. He says they called him Freckles as he looked so young. Ogden is only 36, despite his appearance, as his mutation is aging him quickly, and Dr. Faber is his last chance to survive as she’s trying to do a good thing. Ogden says that if Robbie runs the story, that’s the end of Faber’s work and the end of him.

Ben apologizes as he makes it clear to Ogden that it’s too late; Robbie wouldn’t stop even if he asked him to. Ogden asks why he won’t try and asks Ben if he’d want to be cured, as he notes that he knows who he really is: he followed him into the ward when Ben was bitten. If he hadn’t changed his name, he would have come earlier. Ben pulls out the Spider mask and tells him about his plans to leave town and start over. When Ben refuses to help, Ogden injects him with a drug that knocks him unconscious.

Ogden carries Ben away to Dr. Faber’s lab, and they begin hooking him up as he comes to from his sedation to find himself restrained by her in her private lab. She’s looking to run some tests into his blood composition and genetic material. She makes it clear she knows he’s the Spider as he threatens to kill her. Dr. Faber notes that he’s not a murderer; he’s a hero, as she has Ogden prep blood retrieval kits.

We flash back to after Ben was bitten and watch as he begins to awaken from sleep and notices webbing coming out from his wrist. He tries to wash his hands but finds the canteen sticking to his hand. He seems to struggle with uncontrollable tics and recalls being experimented on, but the military doctors never found anything.

Faber says the army only wanted to weaponize the men and continued experimenting on them, but she wants to help, making her nothing like the others. We learn that Faber lost her son once and wants a second chance for her son, Ogden. Faber mentions that his friend has that in common, as she also has someone she’s desperate to save, which is when Ben realizes Cat sold him out as he begins to lose consciousness again.

Test results show his blood is normal, and Faber is determined to find answers. Ben has come to and tries to free himself as Ogden comes in and apologizes for all this. He gives Ben a glass of water, which he quickly downs. Ogden questions his decision to leave town and tells him that there is still time for Ben to become a hero. Ben says he’s never getting out of here alive as Ogden assures him that his mom is just trying to save him. Faber enters and says they're going to have to harvest genetic materials from Ben’s organs as she administers a sedative and they wheel him away. She believes that they can find a cure for the other mutations as she takes him in for surgery after his mask turns into a spider on his face.

While under sedation, Ben sees the military doctors cutting him open as spiders come pouring out of his wounds. We then see the patient that bit him bite his arm as Ben runs into the other room. He then sees Ruby, but she then turns into the Spider before he ends up in a daydream where he’s the size of a spider and sees flashes of memories before coming to.

Faber finds a cure, but her story does not have a happy ending

In the lab, Faber begins running more tests hoping to find an answer, and she seems to find something. She formulates a solution that she believes will cure Ogden and injects him with the solution. His body begins to shake as the camera rotates, and we see Ogden is back to his younger self, no longer looking like a man far beyond his years. Faber and Ogden embrace as she celebrates the finding and says they need to clear out.

Faber says they can’t give Ben the antidote, as the best thing they can do is to disappear with no one left who knows anything about them. Faber wants to run, knowing the police would throw them behind bars and she can’t risk losing her son when she just got him back. She says his life was always the price for hers as she pulls out a gun with the intention of killing Ben. Ogden takes it and says he’ll do this, as he needs to look Ben in the eye, soldier to soldier.

Ben is able to use his webs to get the keys and frees himself from his restraints and tries to make his way out of the room, but he’s weakened from the surgery and sedation. Ogden emerges, and Ben is surprised to see he’s young again. Ogden says he’s going to try to save his life; all he wants from Ben is to promise him not to hurt his mother.

Outside, Silvermane arrives at the lab with Lonnie, Flint, and Layden. Ogden and Ben begin heading up the elevator as Ben gets a spider sense and realizes Robbie would have run the article, making the location of the lab known. Thus, how Silvermane has found it. Ogden gets Ben to the surface as he heads back to get his mom, who is in the lab bottling the antidote. Silvermane, Lonnie, Flint, and Layden arrive in the lab and begin to question her. They ask her to lead them to the rest of the patients in the lab.

As they exit, Ben arrives at the lab and changes into his clothes and seems to spot the antidote. Meanwhile, Faber leads Silvermane and his men down to the lab, where she shows them the others who have succumbed to their mutations and are dead. She tells them she can help them as Layden shocks her and sends her to the ground. Ogden arrives and tries to save his mom, but they’re no match for Layden, who kills them both and ignites a fire in the process.

Silvermane, Lonnie, Flint, and Layden make it out just before the lab goes up in flames. Ben also makes it out alive, and we see that Ben indeed got the antidote before leaving.
