It has been a long journey so far, but Stranger Things is nearly coming to an end. Throughout the past nine years, we've seen the actors behind the iconic Netflix series grow older and face no shortage of terrifying creatures and unexplainable phenomena. A tale that started with four kids playing Dungeons and Dragons has grown into something bigger and stranger with each passing season. But, at long last, it is time to start bidding our farewells.
While audiences worldwide await the release of Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2, the cast and crew are already looking at what lies ahead. It might be the end of the road for beloved characters such as Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Eleven, and Max, but you know what they say: when a door closes, a window opens.
Jumping from one big franchise to another is no easy task. Still, Sadie Sink accomplished it with ease as she first portrayed the role of Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, and now she's set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, she isn't the only Stranger Things cast member who wants to team up with the wall-crawler in a live-action film. We've seen Peter Parker steal the spotlight for over two decades now, so it might be time to make some room for new blood.
Caleb McLaughlin would like to play the role of Miles Morales on the big screen
The Stranger Things cast recently put their knowledge to the test by proving how well they know each other in a video for Time. When Caleb McLaughlin was asked what his dream role would be, he wrote down "Avatar". However, Sadie Sink gave a different answer in the form of "Miles Morales", to which Caleb replied, "I mean, that's a dream role."

Comic book fans have seen multiple people take on the Spider-Man mantle over the years, but aside from Peter Parker, no one has been as popular or impactful as Miles Morales. The Brooklyn teenager has been at the forefront of the Spider-Verse animated franchise, and he also starred in his own video game courtesy of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. You could even argue that Miles' mainline comics have been better than Peter's in recent years. There's no denying it: The iconic hero has taken over Marvel.
Despite its popularity, Miles Morales has yet to join the MCU. On the bright side, Spider-Man: Homecoming featured the appearance of Miles' uncle, Aaron Davis, and that alone might open the door for the arachnid duo to join forces further down the line. The only question remaining is: When could Miles swing into action?
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that Disney isn't able to use Miles Morales' character until the Spider-Verse trilogy comes to an end. That would mean that 2027 could be the earliest audiences might see the iconic hero in live action. Interestingly enough, that same year will also mark the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, which is bound to change the MCU as we know it and introduce many new heroes. And to add more fuel to the fire, it's important that Miles started to live in the mainline 616 comic book universe after the Secret Wars comic book storyline.
Caleb McLaughlin has already won over fans' hearts in the role of Lucas Sinclair, so he's already a fit candidate to bring the wall-crawler to life. Besides, it would be interesting to see Tom Holland's Peter Parker finally be a mentor to someone else after being under the tutelage of multiple Marvel heroes. And if Spider-Man: No Way Home proves something, it is that the more wall-crawlers on the big screen, the merrier.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
