On our most recent weekly look at the best that comics has to offer, two Spider-Man titles made the top ten, along with horror comic books It Killed Everyone But Me No. 4, the origin of Absolute Joker in Absolute Batman No. 15, and more. This past week, there was a more balanced variety from multiple companies.

Let’s start with my favorite comic book of the week.

The Power Fantasy No. 14

  • Writer: Kieron Gillen
  • Artist: Caspar Wijngaard
  • Colors: Caspar Wijngaard

In this issue of The Power Fantasy, we’re seeing the repercussions of Etienne’s death. Not just the bad, but the good. For example. Masumi Morishita is taking responsibility for her actions. This will help her keep it together when more pressure comes her way. On the flip side, Eliza Hellbound will be a problem. According to the end of this issue, there are only three months left before she loses it.

Planet She-Hulk No. 2

  • Writer: Stephanie Phillips
  • Artist: Aaron Kuder
  • Colors: Sonia Oback

There was no doubt that this comic book would be fun. It’s Stephanie Phillips writing Jennifer Walters. But issue No. 2 of Planet She-Hulk showed that there’s more to the story. There were questions about morality, a fun fight, and more clues added to the mysterious murder. Plus, there’s a beautifully drawn final page.

Exquisite Corpses No. 8

  • Writers: Pornsak Pichetshote and James Tynion IV
  • Artists: Michael Walsh and Adam Gorham
  • Colors: Jordie Bellaire

This was a mostly violent issue of Exquisite Corpses, but there was an amazing moment with Laura Thomas and Lone Gunman that made this a must-read. It’s all about going up against unbeatable odds and proudly fighting with nothing to lose. It leads to an ending that should get people pumped for what’s next.

Superman Unlimited No. 8

  • Writer: Dan Slott
  • Artist: Lucas Meyer
  • Colorists: Joa Canola and Marcelo Maiolo

Dan Slott is putting in such good work with Superman Unlimited. With so much Green Kryptonite circulating worldwide, the constant threat can get old. Thankfully, Slott knows that a break from that can do wonders. That’s why, in this comic, it was a classic Superman story with a little help from… Guy Gardner?

Titans No. 30

  • Writer: John Layman
  • Artist: Pete Woods
  • Colors: Pete Woods

The fight between Cyborg and Swamp Thing in this issue of Titans was better than expected. Readers may have come for the brawl, but ended up getting an emotional moment between the two competitors. I couldn’t help but smile at what was said in the end. Plus, there’s a surprise return at the end of the issue.

DC K.O.: Harley Quinn vs. Zatanna No. 1

  • Writer: Leah Williams
  • Artist: Mirka Andolfo
  • Colors: Romulo Fajardo Jr.

Writer Leah Williams showed us that Harley Quinn is one of the most underestimated characters in comics. Instead of fighting in the tournament for selfish means, Quinn understood that the fate of the world was at stake and sacrificed herself for the greater good. More importantly, Harley reminded Zatanna that she’s the greatest magician in the world.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones No. 3

  • Writer: Alex Paknadel
  • Artist: Amancay Nahuelpan
  • Colors: Luis Antonio Delgado

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones has been a solid series since the beginning, but the third issue is the best so far. Readers witness Casey Jones at his most hurt since being shot (Teenage Mutant Ninja No. 5). His injuries didn’t last long after taking a serum, but the benefit may come with a future addiction.

Space Ghost (Volume 2) No. 6

  • Writer: David Pepose
  • Artist: Jonathan Lau
  • Colors: Andrew Dalhouse

It’s Jan and Jace versus something they never thought imaginable. They’re fighting their mentor and father figure, Space Ghost. The catch is that he’s now a vampire under the control of the Vampire King Forvalokka. And unlike most stories where the heroes hesitate to fight their loved ones, Jan and Jace understand what’s at stake and fight for their lives.

Here, writer David Pepose solidified my reasoning for putting Jan in the top 50 comic book characters of 2025. Once again, Jan proved that her skills are beyond her years.

Gargoyles: Demona No. 5

  • Writer: Greg Weisman
  • Artist: Frank Paur
  • Colors: Robby Bevard

This was a fantastic ending to a must-read miniseries. As the story goes on, you see Demona’s heart begin to soften thanks to her time raising Angelika. Sadly, if you know Demona, you understand that her heart would eventually harden. Seeing this end the way it did ties everything together in a heartbreaking way.

X-Men: Book of Revelation No. 3

  • Writer: Jed MacKay
  • Penciler: Netho Diaz
  • Inkers: Sean Parsons and J. P. Mayer
  • Colors: Fernando Sifuentes

This is the issue where readers get Doug Ramsey’s revelation (pun intended). While Elbecca and En Sabah Nur thought that they were following Revelation, Doug knew what was happening and allowed things to continue. However, don’t be shocked if Apocalypse has another card to play.
