Following on from the success of Deadpool/Batman earlier this year, it has now been confirmed that fans do not have long to wait for the next big Marvel and DC crossover. This is because it was recently clarified by publisher DC Comics that Superman/Spider-Man No.1 will be released on March 25, 2026, which is just a few short months away.

The one-shot comic will feature a main story by writer Mark Waid (who has written various Spider-Man and Superman comics in the past) and illustrator Jorge Jiménez, which will feature Spider-Man and Superman crossing paths with Doctor Octopus and Brainiac as the journalist pursuits of the two heroes in their day jobs cause them to cross paths, before donning their superhero outfits and joining forces, with this story already sounding like it could be one of the best crossovers of next year.

There will also be a collection of shorter supplementary stories featured in the comic, with writers such as Tom King, Matt Fraction, Sean Murphy, and Gail Simone, in addition to illustrators including Jim Lee, Belén Ortega, and Steve Lieber, presenting stories featuring crossovers between Marvel and DC characters including The Punisher, Power Girl, Jimmy Olsen, Superboy, Mary Jane Watson, Carnage, Spider-Man 2099, and Lois Lane.

Superman/Spider-Man is a story Marvel and DC fans can't miss

With so much crammed into Superman/Spider-Man No.1, it sounds like this comic will definitely be worth its asking price when it arrives in stores on March 25. It will be followed by a separate comic called Spider-Man/Superman No.1, which will be published by Marvel in April, although current details on that particular comic are scarce at the moment. Either way, seeing as the last dedicated crossover comics between Spider-Man and Superman were published all the way back in the 1970s (and they will soon be reprinted), fans will no doubt be thankful for this new opportunity to see the two A-list superheroes once again teaming up to fight evil.

Although official crossover comics between the two publishers used to be few and far between, it now seems like Marvel/DC crossovers are here to stay, and fans could not be happier. Deadpool/Batman proved to be a huge hit, and Superman/Spider-Man will no doubt achieve a similar level of success, meaning that we can expect to see many more crossovers between popular Marvel and DC characters in the near future. And if you are looking forward to reading Superman/Spider-Man, you can pass some of the time until its release by gazing at the stunning man cover by Jorge Jiménez and the equally impressive variant covers created by artists including Mikel Janín, Rafael Albuquerque, Clayton Crain, Dave Johnson, and more.

It sounds like this really will be a comic which self-respecting Marvel and DC fans absolutely will not be able to miss.
