Countless superheroes have been created over the decades, but very few can be candidates for having the very best rogues' gallery. Most of the time, the debate comes down to whether Spider-Man takes the crown or Batman glides his way to the top. Either way, there's no denying that Bruce Wayne has faced some of the most terrifying, unhinged, violent, and smart villains ever to grace the comic book world. As a result, whenever a new movie starring the Caped Crusader gets announced, we can't help but be excited about who the hero will face.
The Batman - Part II is shaping up to be one of DC's most anticipated projects. Ever since credits rolled on the first film, fans have been eager to see more of the dark and twisted world Matt Reeves created. The Riddler might finally be behind bars, but that doesn't mean Gotham City is free of danger. After all, audiences caught a small glimpse of the Joker, who is reported to appear in the highly anticipated sequel. Besides, word is still out on who the main villain will be, but a new hint might finally point us in the right direction.
Sebastian Stan is hinted to play Two-Face in The Batman - Part II
On Jan. 6, 2026, it was reported that Sebastian Stan was in talks to join the cast of The Batman - Part II in an unspecified role. Fans quickly began to theorize that he could join the movie as an antagonist, with names like Thomas Elliot thrown around for a potential character. However, the speculation might've just been put to rest, as Sebastian Stan's stylist, Michael Fisher, posted a picture of the beloved actor as the terrifying Two-Face in what appears to be some very convincing fan art.

When "leaks" for big superhero movies happen, they are usually taken down after a few minutes, or the studio intervenes to do some damage control and try to misdirect audiences once again. Surely, the same happened here... right? Well, not exactly. Yet another piece of fan art depicting Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent surfaced from the same source. Eventually, they were taken down but, at this point, it would seem all but confirmed that Robert Pattinson's Batman is about to face a twisted version of justice thanks to a corrupt District Attorney. But could there be something more to the story?
At the time of writing this, Sebastian Stan hasn't been officially confirmed to join the cast of The Batman - Part II, so the idea of his potential role being leaked twice by the same source seems a bit... odd. After all, during an interview with Josh Horowitz, Director Matt Reeves teased that the movie's main antagonist hasn't appeared in any other live-action movie before:
"Picking the right villain that digs into what [Bruce] does, that sort of goes into his past and his life, that was what drove that discussion. And I won't tell you where we ended up, but we're super excited about it. And I will say it's never really been done in a movie before, so we're excited."
Of course, there's always the possibility that Matt Reeves merely hinted that the main villain will be utilized in a completely new and unique way, even if they have already appeared in another movie. However, there is also the chance that Two-Face ends up being a secondary bad guy in the film instead of the main star of the show, or that this is all just a big misdirection in an attempt to hide who Sebastian Stan will play. However, if the Stranger Things Conformity Theory has taught us anything, it is that sometimes the simpler answer is usually right.
The Batman - Part II is set to start shooting in Spring 2026. With that in mind, it won't be long before official announcements start to come our way and set pictures give us our very first look at the movie's villain. For the time being, it would be better if we stop picturing Sebastian Stan as a beloved Marvel anti-hero and start to imagine him as one of Gotham's worst criminals. If there's an actor who could do both, Sebastian is definitely a perfect candidate.
The Batman - Part II will be released on Oct. 1, 2027.
