The thrid episode of HBO’s The Last of Us season 2 starts with nothing but heartbreak. After the invasion of the infected, the Jackson, Wyoming, hospitals are full of injured people and crying babies. Then you see Tommy with Joel’s body. In an emotionally painful moment, Tommy says, “Give Sarah my love.” As if that wasn’t enough, Ellie wakes up screaming after realizing that Joel’s death wasn’t a dream.
After the death of Joel and Ellie's recovery, it was time to get vengeance on the people who killed Joel. First, it had to be approved by the council of Jackson, Wyoming. Sadly, the vote to send sixteen people to kill Abby and her friends was voted down. Not even a passionate speech from Seth could persuade them. If you thought something like that would stop Ellie and Dina, you’d be wrong. After Dina puts a plan together and Seth gives them a horse to ride and a new gun to use, the duo is on their way.
Meanwhile, in Seattle, the audience meets a new group of people with scars on their faces. Fans of The Last of Us Part II know that these are the Seraphites: A cult/religious group that opposes the Washington Liberation Front (or WLF). You see them as peaceful, but looks are always deceiving.

What to expect
Losing the vote to get revenge for Joel’s death didn’t stop Ellie and Dina from going after Abby. With a little help from Seth, they started their journey from Jackson, Wyoming, to Seattle, Washington. But will it be enough to kill their enemies? As it’s seen at the end of episode 3, neither of them are ready for the WLFs. They have tanks and more than enough people to throw at them. That’s not all, either. The WLFs have a devious leader by the name of Isaac.
The trailer above shows Jeffrey Wright returning as Isaac (he plays him in The Last of Us Part II). If he’s anything like his counterpart in the video game, expect him to be ruthless, vicious, and smart. That’s on top of his willingness to sacrifice everyone to win.
Like every episode so far, expect changes from the source material. The preview for episode 4 proves that with an origin story for Isaac. There’s no way that’s the only alteration to the story. Whatever else is switched, the track record for the show proves it will be good.
