Audiences worldwide are still processing the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't slowing down anytime soon. After Matt Murdock taught us that the best way to deal with a terrifying villain is with the weight of the law, Frank Castle will try to prove that shooting guns might be a better option.
The Punisher: One Last Kill special presentation is just around the corner. Frank Castle is bound to take over the small screen before switching over to the big screen and saving the day alongside Spider-Man. Fortunately, the beginning of the antihero's journey is just around the corner, so here's when you can expect to see the Punisher do what he does best and kill every bad guy on sight.
Get ready, because things are about to get very violent. Frank Castle's first standalone project set in the MCU.

What to expect from The Punisher: One Last Kill
The last time we saw Frank Castle in the MCU was during the finale of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, where he was held captive in the Kingpin's personal prison on the Red Hook port. But by the time Season 2 came by, he was somewhere completely different. After all, when Matt freed everyone on the port, Frank Castle wasn't there anymor. We know that he freed himself in the post-credits scene of the first season, but how did he manage to stay off the Kingpin's radar? Well, that's exactly what we're about to find out.
During an interview with Variety, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane revealed that The Punisher: One Last Kill will take place before and during the events of Born Again Season 2:
"I know very well where we left him at the end of Punisher Season 2. I think this tells the story of what happened next after Punisher and before and during the events of Born Again Season 2."
Chances are that we'll see how Frank escaped imprisonment, and what he was up to when all hell broke loose, and New York citizens were attacked by their very own mayor. Furthermore, the Disney+ special presentation will also give the Punisher a new sense of "purpose", as revealed by Jon Bernthal during an interview with ComicBook:
"The directive from day one was pretty simple: it was how do we get Frank from this place in his life where he is reeling and spiraling out of control, a man who is set on absolute vengeance, to a place where he can find some meaning, where he can find something new to fight for? But he does find a bit of purpose, and I think that is an exciting new take on the character."
It isn't far-fetched to assume that Frank's new mission will lead directly into the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where he is confirmed to make an appearance. Rumors indicate that the Punisher will protect Sadie Sink's Jean Grey from the Department of Damage Control. If that were to be the case, then maybe the upcoming Disney+ special will be all about Frank learning about the DoDC's crimes and how they hold captive anyone with powers (especially mutants) just to remain operational.
As was to be expected from a project starring Frank Castle, The Punisher: One Last Kill is rated TV-MA. That means audiences should expect great levels of violence and no shortage of bloody encounters. Fortunately, it isn't long before we get to see what Marvel has in store for everyone's favorite antihero.
