The incredibly long hiatus for The Walking Dead season 11 is almost over. When does season 11, episode 17 air?
The Walking Dead made its much-anticipated return to TV screens back in the summer of 2021 when it launched its final season in typically undead and shocking fashion. That launch consisted of the first eight episodes of the season, which saw it air them across eight weeks before taking a hiatus until February.
The long-running AMC zombie drama has been on the air for over a decade now, but in 2020 it was revealed that it would be taking its final bow with an extended bumper-length eleventh and final season consisting of a startling 24 episodes.
All is not lost for fans of the franchise as the TWD Universe continues to grow via its three spin-offs (one a full series, another a two-season miniseries, and the most recent a six-episode anthology series) and three new in-development spin-offs set to take it into the future.
The show’s second hiatus of two midseason breaks has been rather long, but its return, with the third part of its eleventh season, is almost upon us. When can fans expect the show’s third midseason premiere to air?
When is The Walking Dead season 11 part 3 released?
The Walking Dead season 11 returns to AMC on Sunday, October 2, 2022. AMC confirmed the show’s return date at its final San Diego Comic-Con panel during the summer.
The show’s midseason replacement, its spin-off Fear The Walking Dead, completed its seventh season back in June. While many initially hoped that would make the main show’s return in the summer a possibility, a teaser for the returning episodes confirmed that the show would return in fall ahead of the Comic-Con announcement.
The final season is split into three installments. Each one of those installments consists of eight episodes. The first of those wrapped its run back in October, the second has now done the same in April, and the third and final installment is coming in October.
