The three Spider-Men reuniting on the big screen had such a lasting impact on superhero cinema that even Brand New Day will have a nod to that epic moment.

Tom Holland's Spider-Man has had no shortage of iconic suits throughout his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The genius teenager who started with a simple homemade costume was eventually gifted a battle armor with an integrated AI ready to fight Thanos' forces. But as impressive as his current wardrobe is, fans seem to agree that the best is yet to come.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will mark a new beginning for the wall-crawler. As such, he needed to sport a new suit, and Marvel didn't hold back in the slightest. Set photos and videos, along with that official teaser, have given us a glimpse at the hero's new look, and it's nothing short of perfection. After years of being gifted his costumes (or crafting them with Tony Stark's tools), Peter Parker created something on his own with the resources he had at hand. The best part? The new design took inspiration from his multiversal counterparts.

Tom Holland confirms his new Spider-Man suit pays homage to Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's costumes

During an interview with Complex, Tom Holland confirmed that his new suit takes cues from the costumes worn by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

"I’m really glad people are picking up on the homage to Tobey and Andrew’s suit (...) I think the third movie was very much about paying respects to those guys... I really like the idea that he’s trying to be like his big brothers, that he looks up to them, and he sees little details on their suits that he thinks are really cool, and now that he is making his own suit and isn’t part of this bigger team."

The biggest difference perhaps comes in the form of the spider logo. While Tom Holland's previous suits used to sport a small, minimalistic logo, the new design features a larger one, more akin to that of Andrew Garfield's. Furthermore, the teaser revealed that the webbing pattern wouldn't appear to be "painted" over the costume, giving it an overall smooth look. Instead, it's now a whole new material laid on top of the fabric, which makes it stand out as was the case with Tobey's suit (except the effect is a little bit less exaggerated).

These changes aren't cosmetic only. Tom Holland also revealed that it's also more comfortable to wear while being much more flexible:

"This is a lot comfier than anything I've worn in the past (...) The new suit is really designed in a completely different way to the previous iterations. It's a lot more flexible, so we can kind of lean into different sides of the character that I haven't been able to before".

Fans have already gotten a glimpse of the new suit in action due to the many Spider-Man: Brand New Day set videos making their way online, and everyone agrees that it feels as if the beloved friendly neighborhood hero suddenly came to life. That sense of realism comes from the fact that the production team is filming on location while using a real costume and doing practical stunts. With a bit of luck, that will translate into the most realistic swinging and action sequences Spidey fans have ever seen.

As for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, rumor has it that they have one more appearance under their belt. Avengers: Secret Wars will be the last project in the MCU's Multiverse Saga, and it's expected to bring heroes from across the multiverse to defeat Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. However, reliable insider Alex Perez claimed that their stories will come to an end in the upcoming crossover. But while it might be heartbreaking to know they won't stick around for long, we'll remember them whenever we take a look at Tom Holland's new suit.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
