If Spider-Noir's astounding success proves anything, it is that the world can embrace live-action iterations of Spider-Man other than Peter Parker. Ever since the release of Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man film back in 2002, Peter has been constantly at the center of the spotlight, with three actors bringing the role to life and even sharing the screen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, other projects are starting to give Miles Morales more and more protagonism.

The Spider-Verse franchise is, at its core, about the story of Miles Morales and how the multiverse as a whole was shaken when he became Spider-Man. Furthermore, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 saw Peter Parker hang up the suit, as Miles stepped up as New York's one and only protector. As a result, fans have been asking to see this iconic iteration of the wall-crawler join the big screen, and Tom Holland also shares the same sentiment.

Tom Holland says he's "really working towards" bringing Miles Morales into the fold

During an interview with Hobby Consolas, Tom Holland opened up about the possibility of seeing Miles Morales join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the British actor stated that nothing is set in stone just yet, he also mentioned that he's working towards realizing that goal:

"At this point in time, we're being really open-minded about what the future looks like. I know that I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe, however that works out. We've got a lot of work to do to bring that to life. But I feel incredibly grateful for the way I was introduced into this world, and I was shepherded by RDJ, and I would love to return that favor to the next generation of people that get the luxury of making these movies, so that is definitely something that I'm really working towards"

Spider-Man: Homecoming featured the appearance of Donald Glover's Aaron Davis—a comic book character known for being Miles Morales's uncle... and also for becoming the supervillain Prowler. Back in 2017, fans imagined Marvel was setting up Miles's introduction on the big screen, yet that hasn't come to pass just yet. However, it's worth remembering that some setups take years to materialize.

The post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming also teased that Michael Mando's Mac Gargan would become the Scorpion, and that storyline is finally happening in Spider-Man: Brand New Day... nearly a decade later. As such, there is still a chance that Marvel brings the Prowler back into the fold to potentially set up Miles Morales's introduction. Better yet, there's evidence to indicate this will be the case.

It has been reported that Tom Holland has a new Spider-Man trilogy ahead of him that will start with Brand New Day. In it, the wall-crawler is set to face no shortage of iconic enemies such as Kingpin, Venom, Tombstone, Hammerhead... and the Prowler. Besides, it's worth remembering that Donald Glover did suit up as the terrifying supervillain in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Granted, his appearance was just a small cameo, but it could also be a signal of greater things to come in the MCU.

One of the greatest highlights of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was watching Peter and Miles bounce off each other's quips, team up to fight many villains, and plan how to defeat the many threats terrorizing New York. So, not only would it be incredible to watch that relationship come to life on the big screen, but it's also the perfect time to do so.

In the comic book world, Miles Morales originally lived in the Ultimate Universe, and it wasn't until after the events of Secret Wars that he permanently moved to Earth-616. So, now that an Avengers: Secret Wars film is just on the horizon, Marvel could pay homage to that storyline by finally introducing Miles Morales on the big screen and pairing him up with Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

One can only dream.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
