The hierarchy of power in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to change... or at least, that's what it feels like with the impending arrival of Avengers: Doomsday.

It isn't a secret that Marvel has been struggling to reach high levels of success with its ongoing Multiversal Saga, especially when compared to the Infinity Saga before it. There has been a clear lack of direction over the last few years, and too many projects were greenlit at one point. However, it feels like the pieces are finally falling into place for the superhero giant to go back to its golden days.

2026 is a big year for the MCU. Its most popular hero will swing back onto the big screen after half a decade, courtesy of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Furthermore, The Avengers will assemble once more to try and save the multiverse as a whole. Marvel is pulling no punches this time around, which is why many iconic heroes will have the spotlight in the upcoming crossover. Over 25 characters have already been announced, with more surprises waiting in store for release day. However, it seems one of those surprises might've leaked ahead of time.

She-Hulk will reportedly appear in Avengers: Doomsday, and her role might be very unexpected

According to journalist Michael Roman (via Everything Always), Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk will be in Avengers: Doomsday. Not only that, but she will be a member of Sam Wilson's Avengers team. After all, Cap was tasked with assembling a new iteration of Earth's Mightiest Heroes at the end of Captain America: Brave New World. Additionally, it appears that Jennifer Walters will have a very... unique role to play (one that's very in-character for her).

Remember how the post-credits scene of Thunderbolts* revealed that there's a bit of a dispute between the New Avengers—led by Yelena Belova and Bucky Barnes—and Sam Wilson's Avengers? Since the two teams share a very similar name, MCU citizens began to wonder which is the real, official team. So, to prevent any confusion, Sam filed for copyright of the "Avengers" name, and that's where Jennifer Walters might come in, as theorized by Michael Roman.

Given that She-Hulk is a lawyer recruited by Sam Wilson, she might've been the one to copyright the "Avengers" name. She could've even been the one to suggest such a move in the first place, learning from the time when supervillain Titania copyrighted the "She-Hulk" name for her own means. That's right: no one is beating Jennifer Walters in the naming department again.

At this point, it is all but confirmed that Bruce Banner's Hulk will go back to his violent ways during the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. If Savage Hulk makes his MCU debut, then he won't be able to be recruited for Sam Wilson's Avengers team. After all, this iteration of the Green Goliath is known for being relentless and incredibly destructive. Fortunately, She-Hulk is perfect to fill the void left by her cousin. Besides, she has already crossed paths with Wong, who could very well introduce her to other iconic MCU characters such as Shang-Chi and Doctor Strange.

Actress Tatiana Maslany had previously poked fun at the rumors that she was fired by Disney and would not appear in Avengers: Doomsday, indirectly confirming that her character would, indeed, be back in Earth's Mightiest Heroes' upcoming adventure.

Given that She-Hulk is well-known for breaking the fourth wall, could fans see a scene of her and Deadpool directly talking to the audience? Could she eventually be the reason why Matt Murdock will be brought into the fold during the events of Avengers: Secret Wars, as it has been heavily rumored? Will we get to see her fight her cousin in a heartbreaking battle? There are countless possibilities for her character, so hopefully she won't simply copyright the "Avengers" name.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
