This is what you’d call the big enchilada of superhero films. Not only is it following the ever so trendy path of releasing in two parts, it’s also expected to be the culmination of everything seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, with all the heroes converging to stop Thanos from ruling and/or destroying all with the help of the Infinity Stones.

Just how big will Infinity War be? The Russo brothers have said that they were considering 67 different characters for the films, and while they since walked that back just a tad, they promise that this two-part epic will “unite the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” What that likely means is the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers (after setting aside their differences following Captain America: Civil War) and maybe even some of the Marvel Netflix crew will have to come together given the threat that Thanos poses. And we’ll see if the Russos, Markus and McFeely can do cosmic as well as they do more grounded fare while leaving the MCU somewhere with a new status quo.

Production on Avengers: Infinity War is expected to begin in November 2016.
