January came and went in the blink of an eye, but not before leaving us with plenty of exciting Spider-Man stories. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man premiered to great levels of critical and fan acclaim, Ultimate Spider-Man (2024) saw the release of one of its best issues yet, and PC players finally had the chance to swing across the city of New York in the recently-released port of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. But the cherry on top? Things will only get better from here.
February will see the release of no shortage of exciting comic books featuring the wall-crawler and his ensemble of supporting characters. But while all eyes are currently set on All-New Venom (2024) to reveal who the mystery host behind the Venom symbiote is, we can't forget that Eddie Brock will undergo a major change this month as well. The former King in Black quickly shifted from ruling all symbiotes in the universe to being stuck in a position where he needed to team up with his worst enemy to keep his life. And we all know comic book characters really don't like staying dead, which means...
Eddie Brock and the Carnage symbiote will become one in Eddie Brock: Carnage
During the events of Venom War (2024), Eddie and his own son, Dylan, fought to see who would get to keep the Venom symbiote. But it didn't matter who came out victorious, the outcome could be disastrous for the entire world. After all, both candidates experienced a grim vision of the future detailing what horrors would unfold if their opponent won and became the one and only Venom. So knowing there's no true way to get a happy ending, the Venom symbiote decided to flee the scene and search for another completely different host. Unfortunately, the timing could not be worse, as Eddie was fatally injured and left to die without his symbiote's healing factor.
During his last moments alive, Eddie went to the place where his whole journey as the Lethal Protector started: A church. It seemed like the last we'd see of the iconic Spider-Man character until a dangerous creature sharing a similar fate arrived at the scene. The Carnage symbiote crossed paths with Eddie after detaching from Cletus Kasady and being left to die on its own. Given that both beings had their back against the wall, they decided to do the unthinkable and team up with each other for a chance at survival.

He’s been VENOM, he’s been Anti-Venom, he’s been the King in Black…now, Eddie Brock has made his darkest bond yet as he joins with the one-and-only CARNAGE! pic.twitter.com/GyXBl2BvcL
From long-time archnemesis to allies, Eddie Brock and the Carnage symbiote will become one this February. There's just one big problem: the parasitic alien still has the tendencies of its former master and needs to feed on people to survive. However, Eddie isn't ready to risk the lives of innocents, so he comes up with a plan: What if the two were to hunt down and eat some of New York's most dangerous and deranged criminals? On paper, it seems like the idea would work and allow this new version of Carnage to stay alive while also keeping the city safe. But we all know things will probably be a bit more complicated than that.
This isn't the first time we'll get to see Eddie be corrupted by the Carnage symbiote. After all, the two briefly bonded during the events of Donny Cates' Venom: Island. However, the dynamic will be completely different this time around given that they will be forced to get along or risk dying by going their separate ways. It's an intriguing concept that might even get them to cross paths with the latest version of Venom, who's an honest hero nowadays thanks to its new mysterious host. On the bright side, we won't have to wait long to see how things will pan out and discover whether Marvel has another hit series on its hands or yet another disappointment.
Eddie Brock: Carnage (2025) No. 1 will be released on Feb. 12, 2025.
