Warning: This post contains spoilers for the first six episodes of VisionQuest.

The WandaVision trilogy is well known for its countless different mysteries. At first, no one was quite sure what the Hex was, who made it, or why. All we knew was that two of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wanda and Vision, were living out a comedy series. Similarly, the true nature of the Witches' Road remained a secret for many episodes in Agatha All Along. Naturally, VisionQuest kept the tradition alive by introducing its own set of unanswered questions.

The latest Marvel Disney+ show follows Vision as he tries to reconnect with his son, Tommy Maximoff, while also escaping a mysterious figure referred to as The Client. So far, no one knows who The Client is or what their true motivations are. All we know is that they are determined to capture Vision alive and will do whatever it takes to achieve it—even hiring different bounty hunters and hacking into S.W.O.R.D. files. But who exactly is this antagonistic character, and what do they really want? Well, Marvel fans are convinced they have found all the answers ahead of the last two episodes.

The internet thinks Jim Hammond is The Client in VisionQuest

VisionQuest has been all about the journey of many different AIs. Vision is on a mission of self-discovery; Ultron and Jocasta are trying to rule over the world, F.R.I.D.A.Y. wants to prevent another Avengers-level threat, and so on. Even characters who seemed to be real people, like Diane Morgan's The Handler, have turned out to be AIs. So it isn't far-fetched to assume The Client is also an AI, and there's also evidence to support this case.

The first official VisionQuest trailer showed us The Client in Vision's mindscape, and this is an important detail. Although the character's identity is not revealed (as it is simply pictured as a shadowy figure with a hat), only an AI could enter the mind of another AI. Moreover, VisionQuest episode 6 revealed that The Client wants to give Vision his "heart" back, and this small clue was more than enough for fans to theorize that the mysterious character is none other than the original version of Vision, Jim Hammond.

We know Jim Hammond's physical body burst into flames due to the AI's inability to correctly process emotions. However, that doesn't mean he's dead (unlike Jarvis). His consciousness could still be locked away in a server somewhere, and now he's looking for the very same thing he once lost: a physical body. That's why he insists his bounty hunters bring in the Vision alive and unscathed.

There's also another, much more subtle detail that points to The Client being Jim Hammond. Before Ultron escaped into the internet after Vision lowered his firewall, the two characters had a brief conversation. Vision doesn't let Ultron go without first giving him a hat, which is meant to represent "new beginnings." Interestingly, The Client is always pictured wearing a hat, suggesting that the mysterious character is looking for a new beginning after a tragedy ensued.

The final episode of VisionQuest could see The Client and Vision combine into one, effectively giving the hero the "heart" he lost with the passing of Wanda. Mind and body could be merged into one, creating an ultimate version of Vision who could stop Ultron and Jocasta by himself.

Of course, this is pure speculation, and there's always a chance that the show surprises us with an unexpected twist. But for the time being, all signs point to Jim Hammond being The Client, and it won't be long before we get some definite answers.
