We've made it. Seven years and five seasons later, and it's officially time for the series finale of Prime Video's The Boys. The show, about to wrap up its fifth and final season, has never held back when it comes to just about anything, so you can rest assured that the series finale will be doing exactly the same. And, with a show like this, that can only mean deaths - and a lot of them.

With that in mind, let's dive into The Boys season 5 episode 8, titled "Blood and Bone", and dissect all of the deaths that take place in the infamous TV show's finale as they happen LIVE. Be warned, there will be MAJOR SPOILERS and, well, knowing this show, there will be blood in the final ever episode.

Every death in The Boys series finale, explained

If you have been keeping up with the final season of The Boys thus far, you will know that it hasn't been holding back when it comes to deaths. Already this season, A-Train, Firecracker, Black Noir, and Frenchie have perished. The latter was the most emotional of the season thus far, catching viewers off-guard as he and Kimiko shared a beautiful, tragic farewell. But how does the series finale stack up to that? Well, it's quite the shocker.

Oh Father: Having been gifted a ball gag by Ashley, Oh Father is ultimately killed by it during a confrontation with Hughie and Mother's Milk that doesn't go his way. He attempts to let out a super-powered growl, only to have the impendenrable gag placed across his mouth, sealing in the power and forcing his head to explode. What an awful way to go, and yet one very in line with what we've all come to expect from The Boys.

The Deep: Having spent a long time out of the water, The Deep gets into a battle with Annie January, a.k.a. Starlight. During the fight, she manages to kick him into the water and, in the end, the marine life ultimately kills him. An octopus tentacle wraps itself around him and bursts out through his mouth - ending his life in a second.

It's a sad, and yet entirely believable ending for a sad and entirely predictable character.

Homelander (Antony Starr) sits in the White House in 'The Boys' season 5 | Jasper Savage/Prime

Homelander: The one we all saw coming (and yet weren't entirely sure that The Boys would stick the landing with), Homelander perished after having his powers removed by Kimiko. And let's just say that it's as violent as you think it might be.

Homelander, Billy Butcher, and Ryan are hit with Kimiko's depowering blast as they all battle in the White House, knocking them all to the ground. When Homelander comes to, he quickly realizes that his powers are gone - and no amount of jumping into the sky will bring them back. It's then that he is ruthlessly assaulted by Butcher, who he is no match for without his powers. This results in a moment that nobody ever thought they would see.

Live on TV, he ultimately begs for his life - telling Butcher that he would do anything (and we mean anything) not to die. But, as we all know, this is the moment that Butcher has been waiting for. With that, he kills his longtime archenemy with a crowbar on air for all the world to see.

Billy Butcher: The other death that audiences were expecting from The Boys finale, Billy Butcher went down a similar path to the one he did in the comics. Upon finding the body of his beloved dog Terror, he decides it's time for all Supes to die and puts the Supes Virus in the sprinkler system. Hughie tries to stop him and the two get into a physical battle that results in Butcher also pummelling his own teammate and friend. When he attempts to land the final blow, Butcher stops for a moment as Hughie reminds him of Lenny, his younger brother. The distraction allows Hughie more than enough time to grab the nearby gun (although we don't see that) and in that moment, he shoots Butcher.

It's a sad, tragic end for a character who never really saw a life beyond his mission and Butcher got to die knowing that he had completed that mission. He also died with his friend, Hughie, there right by his side until the end. While Hughie shows remorse and immediate regret for what he had done, Butcher tells him not to worry as he left him no choice. The two friends hold hands as Butcher passes away, bringing about an end to his trials.

The Boys series finale wasted absolutely no time delivering emotional blow after emotional blow to close out this gripping story, and it's sure to be an episode that we continue to talk about for a long time to come.
