1. Superman and Lois

Technically, the decision to end Superman and Lois was made last year, but as the show's final season has only just recently started airing on TV screens, it's only just beginning to set in for viewers that the DC TV series will end before the end of this year. And if you tuned into that season 4 premiere, you will have seen yet another example of the absolutely outrageously high standard that this show continues to offer us.

The truth is that Superman and Lois is one of the best superhero TV shows ever made, and it was ended prematurely because DC Studios doesn't want it to compete with its upcoming Superman movie (irrespective of the fact that there are/will be three live-action Batman cinematic universes). It's senseless because it underestimates how smart its audience is. The DCEU movies carried on for years while the Arrowverse was dominating the small screen on The CW; nobody expected them to take place in the same universe.

Look, there is no doubt about it that Superman and Lois will end strong. The show has yet to disappoint and it consistently picks up new fans due to the positive word-of-mouth, so no matter when it ended, it was always going to satisfy its audience. But for a show this popular, this high quality, to end after just four seasons - when it was designed to run for seven - is an injustice to its cast, crew, and loyal fans.

James Gunn's Superman movie has the potential to be brilliant, but it has a tough task ahead of it matching the standard of Superman and Lois. And even if does manage to pull it off, the notion of ending a TV series to prioritize a movie sets the comic book and entertainment genre back decades. Both are important and both could have coexisted.

Superman and Lois deserves better.
