Stephen Amell joined the Arrow After Show on theStream.tv Wednesday night to talk about this week’s new episode, “Guilty,” as well as what’s coming down the road. While he proved a master at staying away from spoilers, he didn’t hide his enthusiasm for a couple of episodes that are coming up soon.
"Episode 8 and episode 9 of this season are the two best episodes that we’ve ever done. They are unbelievable."
Since this week was already episode 6 of Season 3, the two he’s talking about are right around the corner. The eighth episode is part of the show’s crossover with The Flash, where Amell hinted that Oliver will have a “very interesting take” on the use of the word “meta-human” and what it means to him.
Amell also dropped plenty of other intriguing tidbits and opinions into the hour-long discussion:
- When host John Campea talked about how much he dislikes the character of Laurel Lance, Amell asked for faith in the writing team. He suggested that people who are irked at the idea that she’ll be transformed into a butt-kicking Black Canary too quickly will fnd her story more nuanced than that.
- Amell praised Warner Bros. for its grand vision of DC movies but felt like the company should have waited for Grant Gustin to have more than two episodes of playing Barry Allen before announcing someone else (Ezra Miller) would portray the Flash on film.
- On the possibility of John Diggle getting a costume of his own, Amell said we’d see it before the end of the season, but it might not be what we’re expecting.
- Might he appear on-screen with Robbie Amell, who plays Ronnie Raymond on The Flash? Stephen said they haven’t done a scene together but teased the idea that they are in the same episode of one of their shows.
