New Secret Wars Map Shows Marvel, Ultimate Universe Manhattans And More

Fans who thought that the 2015 version of Secret Wars would combine the regular, or 616, Marvel Universe with the Ultimate Universe, please stand up — you win a prize! Thanks to the new, more detailed map of Battleworld just released by Marvel, we can even tell you where the intersection is going to take place: in New York City, and specifically Manhattan.
NYC’s most famous borough has had a tough time lately, what with being taken over by the inverted X-Men during AXIS and all. But that pales in comparison to its new fate during Secret Wars, where it is transported right into the center of Battleworld, smashed up against the Ultimate Universe Manhattan. The Earth-616 Attilan and Monster Metropolis (probably to Deadpool’s relief) also make it intact.
Then again, considering the teaser Marvel released along with the map, Manhattan might be all that’s left of the standard Marvel Earth:
The fade to white definitely calls to mind DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths, at least for people whose comic fandom stretches back 30 years.
May is still six months away, so you’ve got plenty of time to familiarize yourself with the new Battleworld and get the lay of the land, such as it is. Note that three areas are classified and that there’s a world-spanning wall that cordons off the Deadlands, Perfection and New Xandar. Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice might say.
