New Secret Wars Video Reveals How The Pieces Fit Together
By Nick Tylwalk
All of a sudden, Marvel’s plans for all of those Summer 2015 teasers and Secret Wars just became a lot more clear. Thanks to a new video the company released today, it looks like those slices of the past are literally going to become the building blocks of the new Battleworld.

Longtime comic fans will remember that the Beyonder was responsible for constructing the composite planet called Battleworld for the original 1984 Secret Wars, memorably taking a chunk of Denver from the Marvel Earth and pieces of random alien planets to put it together. The new video shows that this time, all of the stories featured in the teasers from the past few weeks will become pieces of the continents on the 2015 Battleworld. In other words, Age of Apocalypse is one section of the western-most continent, and the neighboring “country” is Armor Wars.
That still doesn’t explain the fact that most of the teasers deviated from their source material in ways ranging from minor to gigantic, but that should make more sense once Secret Wars actually arrives. We also don’t know if it’s the Beyonder or some other force that smashes these worlds together, whether it’s a last ditch effort to save the remaining universes that have yet to be destroyed by the Incursions, or something else entirely.
What we do know is that Secret Wars #1 is coming in May 2015, written by Jonathan Hickman, drawn by Esad Ribic and with a cover by Alex Ross. should be interesting, to say the least.
