Deadpool and Star Wars are the strangest of pop culture bedfellows. Yet you can bet your entire collections of comics and merch that they’re going to be celebrated side by side at conventions all over the country in 2016, and with that in mind, it only makes sense that one of the most iconic actresses from the Star Wars saga and the director of Deadpool are both on the guest list for Silicon Valley Comic Con.

More from Conventions And Shows

Carrie Fisher, better known to fans everywhere as Leia Organa, and Tim Miller, who helmed Deadpool to its wilder than expected success, will both appear at SVCC the weekend of March 18-20 at the San Jose Convention Center. It will be Fisher’s first public appearance since Star Wars: The Force Awakens blew away box office records last December.

Deadpool has done pretty well on the record-breaking front in its own right, and SVCC attendees will have a chance to hear how Miller and his team pulled off their unique brand of R-rated superhero magic. He’s appearing on a panel called “Tim & Friends’ Tips on Winning the Deadpool” alongside the special effects wizards from the movie on Saturday, March 19 at 4 pm Pacific time.

Other guests recently announced for the inaugural Silicon Valley Comic Con include Bonnie Wright from the Harry Potter films and Vic Mignogna, known for his voice work on Fullmetal Alchemist and Dragon Ball Z. Plus Disney Interactive will be hosting a panel on its Marvel and Star Wars games, and memorabilia company ScreenUsed will be auctioning off props used in films like Spider-Man 3, X2: X-Men United and the Back to the Future trilogy.
