Son Of Batman Trailer Shows Damian, Deathstroke

Damian Wayne might be dead in the comics, but he’s living on in animation.

Thanks to the upcoming DC Universe Animated Original Movie “Son of Batman,” Damian is about to get a whole lot more attention. Inspired by the first Grant Morrison story arc from “Batman” #655-658—and rather loosely, it appears, given the fact that Deathstroke appears to be the main antagonist—the movie features Bruce Wayne’s first meeting with his son by Talia al Ghul, a boy he reluctantly accepts as Robin.

It helps that Damian is no ordinary young man, having been trained by the League of Assassins to kick butt (with no qualms about killing) from a young age. Indeed, the first trailer shows the younger Wayne flashing his skill with dual swords, something he was known to do in the comics.

Stuart Allan voices Damian, while Jason O’Mara handles Batman as he did in “Justice League: War.” The voice cast also includes Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke, who didn’t star in the “Batman & Son” arc, Morena Baccarin as Talia, Giancarlo Esposito as Ra’s Al Ghul, and Xander Berkeley as Kirk Langstrom, also known to Batman fans as Man-Bat.

Since Langstrom is involved, it appears we may get to see one of the cooler features of Morrison’s original story: ninja Man-Bats. Watch for them as you check out the “Son of Batman” trailer right here:
