Illiuminati Vs. Captain America In Original Sin Teaser Image?
By Nick Tylwalk
Well, this doesn’t look good for Captain America, now does it?
That’s a teaser for the Original Sin event that Marvel sent out yesterday. Marvel’s Tom Brevoort and Axel Alonso have already revealed that Cap learns that someone has messed with his memories during the event — it happened in New Avengers #3, when the Illuminati voted Captain America out after he expressed doubts about how the group was handling incursions from alternate Earths and asked Dr. Strange to erase his knowledge of the group — and that’s likely what’s being depicted here. So along with being a murder mystery, it could be that Original Sin deals with some of the same trust issues as DC’s Identity Crisis. Captain America = Batman, perhaps?
You have to love that tagline too: “Everybody Has One.” Expect to see some of the dirty laundry of the Marvel heroes get aired out during the summer months. The main Original Sin series runs eight issues, coming out bi-weekly between May and August. Issue #1 is by writer Jason Aaron and artist Mike Deodato, and is scheduled to go on sale May 7.
