Amazing Spider-Man 2 to set-up Sinister Six spin-off

Sinister Six

I think following all of the end-credit and villain spoilers that have been shown to us over the past few weeks that this goes without saying but it ‘turns out’ that the latter stages of Amazing Spider-Man 2 are going to lay the groundwork for a Sinister Six movie. So in case any of you were wondering why the Man in Shadows was walking around Oscorp past objects like Vultures wing harness, Doctor Octopus’ arms, what appears to be the Venom symbiote inside a ball and Norman Osborn’s head in a box than that’s obviously it.

But true to Sony’s ‘Don’t show, just tell them, tell them over and over and over’ approach we have been told by Sony Chairman Amy Pascal during an interview with Entertainment Weekly that all of the above is doing exactly what everyone thought it would be doing “At the tail end of this movie we set up some of the other characters that will probably end up being in the Sinister Six. We’re going forward on all fronts.”

Whilst the knowledge of which six villains from Spidey’s rogue gallery we’ll be getting remains secret it’s looking like a safe bet that we’ll be getting something along the lines of Green Goblin, Rhino, Lizard, Electro, Vulture & Doctor Octopus. Why have I chosen those villains and not other popular Sinister Six mainstays like Mysterio and Kraven? Well, in a deductive approach similar to that of the great Sherlock Holmes I’ve literally just looked at the villains we’ve already seen and know will be in, or have been hinted in, the Amazing Spider-Man movies. I know I’m a genius right.

If it makes things any easier these are who Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield wants Venom, Doc Ock, Vulture and Kraven. Either way it appears that we’ll be getting the answer to who the Sinister Six will be as well as the much anticipated revelation as to who the Man in Shadows actually is? Brilliant!
