Andrew Garfield still not planning on doing Amazing Spider-Man 4

Andrew Garfield still not sure about Amazing Spider-Man 4
As much as Amazing Spider-Man 2 was good many people will now be acutely aware that the franchise seemingly has a ticking clock with both director Marc Webb and Spidey himself Andrew Garfield seemingly leaving the franchise after Amazing Spider-Man 3. This will undoubtedly be a big blow if it were to happen, especially with Garfield.
The third Spider-Man movie has already lost it’s established screen-writing duo of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman as they recently announced their split. This all seems to be leading up to a huge change and massive shift in Sony’s Spider-Man films, especially as Garfield doesn’t seem to have changed his mind in a recent interview.
Speaking to comicbookresources.com Andrew Garfield said
"“I don’t know. All I know is that these movies are big, and they take a really long time to make. They take a lot of time and energy and passion and love — which I give as freely as I possibly can, and as wholly as I possibly can. I know that all I want to make sure of is that this is a complete set. I don’t want it to be things like — I want it to feel like a circle. I want the two ends to join, somehow. I don’t know what that means, yet. I don’t know what that means in terms of the quantity of Spider-Man movies I do. But I know that I don’t particularly want to be a 40-year-old Spider-Man. [Laughs] I do know that time is fleeting.”"
Although that does seem to indicate there is a small chance that Garfield does do more than three movies it’s clear that he doesn’t think he’s getting any younger so he has a relatively small shelf-life left as Spider-Man. When Amazing Spider-Man 4 comes out he will be closer to 40 than not.
But what will Sony do if Andrew Garfield doesn’t sign up for more movies? Kill Spider-Man off?
