Warner Bros. Adds ‘X-Men’ Savior as VP
By Skip Harvey
Warner Brothers has hired away Drew Crevello from FOX. If you aren’t familiar with FOX business officers, he’s the man who can be credited with overseeing the relaunch of the X-Men franchise after Brett Ratner poorly edited it into oblivion. From Deadline:
"“Drew has a long history of developing and guiding character-driven films of every genre, which makes him a great fit for our team. He’s strategic, exceptionally bright and knows firsthand the challenges and rewards of the creative process.”"
Said Warner Bros. production president Greg Silverman.
Rumor is that Crevello was hired for not only saving the business side of the franchise, but that he’s a comic book fanboy with a well of comic knowledge. If that’s not a sign that the Geek have inherited the Earth, I don’t know what is. Crevello is expected to help oversee the new DC Justice League cinematic universe. Seems like a good hire and perhaps an indication that the company doesn’t completely believe in the free reign of the Geoff Johns/David Goyer brain trust.
