Batman: Arkham Knight Officially Delayed to 2015
The internet is all a-buzz this morning with the latest news for Batman: Arkham Knight, that news being that the game which had been scheduled to hit store shelves this October 14th is now being delayed until 2015. IGN.com has reported on the delay and stated that no reason for the delay has yet been given, though we can guess that it is to ensure that Arkham Knight “goes out with a bang” as IGN reporter Luke Karmali put it. You can read Luke’s article on IGN.com.
Kotaku.com spoke to Rocksteady Marketing Manager Dax Ginn about the delay, and he had this to say:
"“Now Batman: Arkham Knight is totally awesome,” Ginn told us in May, under embargo. “The thing about awesome, though, is awesome takes time. And totally awesome takes a lot of time. So in collaboration with our colleagues at Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics, we have decided to extend the development time of Batman: Arkham Knight. Now, the very simple reason for doing this is to ensure we are delivering the awesome level of quality that Batman fans and gamers expect from this, the final episode and the epic conclusion to the Rocksteady Arkham trilogy. The Dark Knight will face his ultimate challenge in Batman: Arkham Knight now to be released in 2015.”"

I don’t know about the rest of the Batman community but my first thought upon hearing news of the delay was “but I already pre-ordered!” Needless to say I’m a bit disappointed that a game this highly anticipated is being delayed, but my hope is that this delay will mean fewer bugs and glitches when I finally do get my hands on the game. In a way I’m glad that Rocksteady isn’t rushing to put out the game before it’s really finished, and if it’s not coming out in October I won’t have to prioritize it over Dragon Age 3 which is (hopefully, unless it too gets delayed) coming out that month.
