Marvel Avengers Alliance Tactics Live Now On Facebook
By Nick Tylwalk
Wait, wait, wait! Don’t roll your eyes at the fact that Marvel Avengers Alliance Tactics is a Facebook game. Instead, just imagine if someone took some of the mechanics from the first Avengers Alliance and mixed them with XCOM-like squad-based tactical gameplay. Pretty sweet, right?

Now stop imagining and just head over to the game’s Facebook page, because it’s quite real. You command a mix of heroes and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and guide them through an all-new story that sounds a bit like Jonathan Hickman’s incursion tale from Avengers and New Avengers but is actually a continuation of the ISO-8 saga from other recent Marvel video games. The threat is so dire that even villains like Loki and Klaw can eventually be recruited to join your team.
But you don’t need to take my word for it. I recently had a chance to talk to the game’s executive producer, Gabe Brown, and he filled me in on everything that went into the creation of Marvel Avengers Alliance Tactics over on Gamezebo. Read that first or just go ahead and take the plunge, and I promise that even if you don’t usually mess with games on Facebook, you may want to make an exception for this one.
