AXIS: Hobgoblin And AXIS: Carnage One-Shots On The Way In October

The next big Marvel event might be a few months away (heck, the current one just passed the halfway point this week!), but if there’s one thing we already know about Avengers & X-Men: AXIS, it’s this: the villains are coming.

More from Comics

Red Skull and his S-Men are the primary threat, and a pretty big one considering the Skull is using the mental powers he’s “borrowed” from the late Professor X to stir up hatred, but the chaos they cause is going to give other bad guys an opportunity to steal some of the spotlight as well. That’s what’s going on in AXIS: Hobgoblin #1 and AXIS: Carnage #1, both of which will come out in October.

“Two of the biggest Spidey villains get their own books? There must be something crazy going on!” Senior Editor Nick Lowe said in a press release. “AXIS is huge and Rick Remender and Adam Kubert have so much awesome going on, we in the Spidey office wanted to get involved.”

The common threads between the two three-issue series are that both villains are back in New York City, both are the classic versions of the characters (Roderick Kingsley is Hobgoblin and Cletus Kassidy is Carnage) and both books have teasers that make it sound like we’ll see things from their stars that we’ve never seen before.

We’ll find out if that’s true or not in three months. AXIS: Carnage #1 is written by Rick Spears with art by German Peralta, while AXIS: Hobgoblin #1 is written by Kevin Shinick with art by Javier Rodriguez.
