Dave Bautista Hoping For More Drax Movie Appearances
By Nick Tylwalk
Even though he doesn’t have much experience as an actor, Dave Bautista — better known as simply Batista from his time as a WWE wrestler — seemed like a perfect casting choice when it was announced he’d be playing Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy. After all, Drax is a pretty straightforward, single-minded guy, willing to smash his way through anything in pursuit of his goal. In the comics, it was killing Thanos, and in the movie, it’s getting revenge on Ronan.

Bautista says he’s a big fan of the source material, and he certainly sounds like he’d be willing to give his tattooed, ever-shirtless portrayal of Drax another go. In a recent round table with Comic Book Resources, he couldn’t talk about whether his contract with Marvel was for multiple movies, but he did say this:
"I want to go there! Just as a fan. I want to be a part of that. I was a wrestler for a long time, and I worked with Triple H and Ric Flair, and when I heard we were going to be in a group with them, it was just a rumor and I just prayed and prayed it’d happen. And that’s the exact same feeling I’ve got here. And — I hope that it happens."
